Revisiting Panchatantra

Before continuing just would like to ask a question. Have you ever gone through Panchtantra except some stories?

If answer is No! It’s never late to go through.

Now let us see how I got in mind to read at least once.

One good day a colleague of mine was talking about her daughter and the bedtime stories she tells to her daughter before she goes to sleep. So this is the time I remembered that am I missing something and suddenly Panchtantra pop up in my mind. And then after I search for some website and got one where I have read all the stories which is long forget after my childhood.

You will be wondering why a person at this age would ever want to read Panchtantra stories meant for the child, then as per me you are wrong, because basically the stories which you have studied in your text book is meant for the child, there are other stories as well, which may not to be easy to understand when you are in standard or grade 1 to 3. Ultimately Panchtantra is nothing but tell of the Political Science and the Human Conduct, which is must for any person, and in Hindu Mythology there is always significance Important for Political Science as well as the Human Conduct. Panchtantra collection which is ever green since BC 200 and still that fresh except some stories which may be missed, and provides the necessary knowledge you must have when you are developing yourself as a successful person. You have politics tactics if and only if you would like to read it. As well as some high moral story which is useful for your day to day personal actions and business operations it depends how you take it.

When I have started to read the book online I was wondering will I able to finish these stories at all, as it was meant for child but through my wonder I was really quick to finish all this stories faster then I finish some novel of Sidney Sheldon, Robert Ludlum or some other authors.
I just would like to say some basics of Panchtantra (Five Principles), May be if I am going to write about Panchtantra in future it will be details of moral for each of the five strategies.

Strategy 1 : The loss of the friends:

This part is moreover related with politics, The main character of the stories are two Jackals a lion and a bullock, These are the stories that figure in a dialogue between the Jackals and ends with the fight between bullock and a lion where bullock dies, who was minister as well as friend of lion, here the villain is one of the Jackal who wants to be man of importance in Lion cabinet.

Strategy 2 : Gain of the friends:

This part encourage to have a friends who is really wise and helps whenever needed, and never to lose such a nice friends with any possibilities the main characters here are a crow, a mouse, a tortoise and a deer. The thing I have admired about this Strategy is you must have some friends who have different skills from yours, which can be useful in future. And you should not be losing the friend.

If you want to take the overall morals for business it is all about managing business with the win-win formula and without compromising with your interest.

These stories gives importance to the team work as well, it is also about you should know your own skill so that you can apply whenever it is needed.

Strategy 3: Of CROWS and OWLS:

The of CROWS and OWLS: The Main characters are the a wise minister of CROWS, king and the king of OWLS this strategy basically known for a single line which says “You should not trust even your closest friend if he was enemy before”.

Strategy 4: The Loss of Gains

The main characters for this is a Monkey and a Crocodile where as monkey is a very good friend of Crocodile still Crocodile tries to kill because of his greedy wife and then she is died the crocodile is in big trouble, as a big crocodile comes into the water, He already lose a good friend like monkey still crocodile convince to advise the monkey then asks him to fight with crocodile. The story ends with following line.

There is no true happiness in what do you get without efforts, even old bullock survives on food that’s comes in his way

This the times strategy also says one should not betray friends and should be cautious all the times.

Strategy 5: Imprudence

If we go for simple meaning it is a lack of caution in practical affairs. This story most probably tells about one who has studied a lot but doesn’t have practical approach can never succeed in life, the best stories here is about a 4 Brahmin where a Brahmin has less knowledge and more common sense while other 3 have less common sense and more knowledge ultimately the one with more common sense survives and other dies,

It also have some other stories which is about one should not be impatient or should not rush when taking Judgment.

80:20 - A Rule Which May Help to Improve Life

Hi,

Hope you all are doing great.

This time it is something new which may interest you.

Some time back I went through a nice article, and found it really interesting.

It is called as 80:20 rule and defined also as Pareto principle,

The Rule Says That: roughly 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes

Above rule is used vastly in every part of world, it can be business, economy and many more place, you can go for following link for basic details on the rule.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pareto_principle

Now I was wondering can we use this concept in our life.

I found it much interesting and something which should be there in every once life.

While actual 80/20 rules they called it as a standard or obvious fact and most probably uncontrollable when it comes to materialized world.

But when I have thought for a while about rule, I found that this rule is not same when it comes to our life, as we are in position to control the effects.

When it comes to life I would define it as “roughly 80% of controllable action in our life comes because of 20% of causes or problems”.

And by my experience it is really worth to use in our life.

I would like to give an example; the example is of a typical family of three;  Husband, Wife and Daughter studying in Grade I.

The family's daily routine is wake up in morning getting ready, having breakfast together, and then father will start for office and drops his daughter at school on the way to office.

Now consider a day when all are ready, breakfast is served father has started having breakfast and waiting for the daughter to ready her schoolbag, father has an important business meeting to attend and yesterday was unsuccessful meeting with another client in office.

The client is big and new for their business, Because of an important meeting to attend with big client he is bit nervous, the agenda and presentation is ready, he has enough time to reach at office and have more 2 hours to go through agenda once more before meeting, but because of his nervousness he can’t think anything other than the meeting with big client. He asks his daughter to come as early as possible; she is ready 10 mins earlier than usual time. Father is nervous and constantly concentrating and thinking of meeting, he asks his daughter to finish her breakfast as soon as possible in little impatient voice, and in hurry daughter drops her glass of milk on her school dress. Suddenly father voice goes loud asking why this has happened, on hearing loud voice of father she had never heard before she starts to cry.

Mother is trying to stop her asking not to cry, the father is really frustrated and asks her wife stating not to encourage her when she does something like that. And not to take side of her, again in loud voice daughter is afraid now, as she is too young to understand father's nervousness she starts crying even louder. Father calms down and then asks his wife to change daughter’s dress, and now she says no I am not going to school and continues crying, father is more frustrated now. He leaves the house impatiently in order to be at office, he starts his car, he is still not calm. After some time he calms down and suddenly remember that he has forgotten important meeting files at home. He has already drove 20 mins again he is impatient and waiting for the "U" turn to go back to home and fetch that files, he reaches to home he fetches the file goes to office, mean while he has also notice that the daughter is still afraid when she has seen him.

He is late in office because of rush hour traffic still he has around 45 mins before the meeting.

He tries to concentrate on the agenda but not able to concentrate thinking of her daughter regarding what happened in morning.

He fails to present content of meeting properly, and not to concentrate on meeting and begs his pardon from client for his presentation, surprisely client agrees to meet next time.

In above example you will find following cause was unavoidable and was not in his hand. "roughly 20%"

1. Nervousness of the Father, as he was meeting a big client and yesterday was unsuccessful meeting with another client in office.

2. Dropping of milk

And following would have been avoided. If he would have control on his nervousness and so frustration and Impatience "roughly 80%"

1. Shouting on her daughter who studies in Grade I and so.

2. Crying of Daughter and so.

3. Daughter not ready to go school.

4. Leaving impatiently for office and so.

5. Forgetting the important files and so.

6. Coming back to home fetches file and so

7. Reaching late at office.

8. Thinking of daughter about what he did in morning so,

9. Bad presentation and not interested in meeting so.

10. Postponed of meeting.

Above was just fictitious example but still it says, if he would have controlled and not allowed him self drawn in nervousness or frustration or impatience, some of above 10 actions would have been avoided.

Political Theatre

Politics! Is it "BIG" ? What do you think? what I know is common man hate this word, I do not know about you, but I do hate it too, any how it is fact politics is politics and we cannot ignore it.

Very soon world's largest democracy is going to see an election,

EC has tried and trying to take some steps which may attract the voters one of this kind of step is blanket ban on exit polls till last phase of polls I appreciate the steps EC has taken for the worlds largest democracy because this matters a lot for voters, even for me where I support one party and if there is no way that the party is going to get power I wont go and vote considering My vote is of no value now. I hope you understand this.

Now obvious question for every Indian is.
Who is the next?
But do you think it is that important?

Some countries who is Strategic Partner of India, also will be eager to know Who is the next, I can't compare this with the US Elections as it is one of the largest economy and Most of the Countries in world have direct interest in US including India.
But I can be sure US will have interest on the Indian elections because of Importance of India to control Terrorism Factory from Indian Neighbouring Countries where US cannot continue its military aid or actions during the time of recession, and the aid which is provided to them is also of no use.
Election date is already out, The election is five phase from 16th April 2009.

War of words has already began and that's what I call to an Election Campaign War of words or a Blame Game, most of the politician do is just blame each other personally, that's what they fill is the best way to get seat, for them aim is to get seat and they are good in it, the blame game may help them to brain wash some of people but not all. Now the another question I would like to ask you. Politicians are good at getting their seat. Then what about us. Where are we good at? -ask your self.

You would not have forgot when in last election Mrs Sonia Gandhi called Mr. Modi as "Merchant of Death" in Gujarat and in reply Modi called her as "Italian Dog", which does not help to any of parties, Congress did not get enough seat in Gujarat while BJP did not get the power for center but was able to manage in Gujarat.

During Last elections the main party most preferably a winner who did the real changes was DMK from Tamil Nadu where all the 39 available seat from Tamilnadu went to DMK a clean swift, isn't it? DMK supported UPA. Moral of the story is people from Tamilnadu was smart enough or rather they have asked them self "Where are we Good At?" to understand, whoever is the PM, They should remember that they have to take care of Tamil Nadu well and so they went and vote.

There is always inconsistency at central level at least as of now where PM comes through Alliance and so he has to manage all parties and the states which belongs to respective parties. To make sure that they does not lose support and this is the fact which no one can change it but I feel it is much better for states having their own political parties consider the example of Tamil Nadu in last election.

Because of this inconsistency at central level many people do not like to vote in election considering the Government is doing nothing for them, which I prefer is not a good idea, You should also believe that the who ever PM is, there is always a politics involved in it and a thing is common for each parties, that is! they can't ignore us to get Seat again and so development must be in agenda, whatever they have done in last five years will directly reflects in next Election, we know we are not blind and so politician knows it.

The other worst thing in Indian Politics is corruption which I prefer is much better now at least in Gujarat, then how it was before, being a Gujarati I know about Gujarat, and it is not tough to find out who is corrupted or where corruption occurs when there are so many local media as well as central media available. Corruption is always the problem and can be sorted out by Negative Votes. Good news is even Election Commission is also looking seriously in this matter to provide a button which says "None Of The Above"  BINGO for voters if it comes to reality, EC has also appointed the 5 judge committee to find out the possibility and feasibility, and the great stuff is political parties are shaken. As they knows if it comes true corrupted persons cannot stand in elections which is more than half in every parties.

So at last I would say Your Vote is valuable please Vote. I would suggest just go for Vote Booth where you may find a button "None of the Above".
